Jeddah ligt aan de Rode Zee in het westen van Saoedi-Arabië. Het is de op één na grootste stad en een belangrijk commercieel centrum van het land. Jeddah is de belangrijkste toegangspoort tot Mekka, de heiligste stad van de islam, die gezonde moslims minstens één keer in hun leven moeten bezoeken. Het is ook een toegangspoort tot Medina, de op één na heiligste plaats in de islam. De stad die nooit slaapt, zal je ook niet laten slapen door de enorme verscheidenheid die ze te bieden heeft. Om Jeddah te ontdekken, moet je langs de woeste kust varen, de luxueuze Corniche bezoeken, genieten van populaire visgerechten, majestueuze paleizen bewonderen en historische en archeologische bezienswaardigheden bekijken. Het Khuzam-paleis is een bezienswaardigheid die de schoonheid van moderne architectuur weerspiegelt. Het werd Khuzam genoemd naar de vele lavendel (Khuzama in het Arabisch) die eromheen groeit. De bouw van het paleis begon in 1928 en werd voltooid in 1932. Het is het eerste gebouw in Jeddah dat is gebouwd met cement en ijzer. Koning Abdulaziz gaf opdracht tot de bouw ervan tijdens zijn verblijf in het Nassif-huis. Het Khuzam-paleis is tegenwoordig een van de belangrijkste musea in Saoedi-Arabië. De Tahaliyah-straat is een van de meest prestigieuze en belangrijke hoofdstraten van Jeddah. Het is een commercieel centrum met winkelcentra van bekende merken, evenals de beste restaurants, diverse winkelcomplexen en luxe kantoren, om nog maar te zwijgen van de schoonheid en strategische ligging, verdeeld in twee delen.
