Manama Bahrain

Manama, located on the northeastern corner of the island, is the capital and largest city of Bahrain. It is a modern, fast-paced city with high-rise buildings and a distinctly authentic character. Although the city follows the Gulf trend of skyscraper construction, Manama has preserved much of its original atmosphere. Bahrain’s capital is an intriguing blend of old and new, where excavated tombs dating back four thousand years lie only a few miles from sleek modern towers. Manama Souq—packed with multicolored spices, exotic fruits, glittering jewelry, and luxurious silks—coexists with ultra-modern shopping malls, while top-tier restaurants and quiet coffee shops contrast with one of the region’s liveliest nightlife scenes. Manama offers several notable sights, including Al Fateh Mosque, Bahrain Fort, the Bahrain National Museum, Barbar Temple, the Corniche al-Fateh, and the Museum of Pearl Diving, considered one of the most important historic buildings in the country.
